I reached out to Thomas to discuss Q Anon and its globalized rollout.
1- Q Anon has gone global and is weaponizing its disinfo to destabilize democracies in Europe and Asia after America. You’ve been studying disinfo, what’s an immediate method of slowing it down ?
If Q Anon…
Jacques Attali is a rare voice on the global stage: special Adviser to French President Mitterrand for 10 years; founder of 4 international institutions: Action contre la faim, EUREKA, BERD and Positive Planet; his more than 80 books are available in 22 languages and have sold 9 million copies worldwide.
His 1990 book Lignes d’Horizon (Millennium in the English version) famously served as an inspiration for Sun Microsystem’s Java programming language. On a more personal note, I read Lignes d’Horizon as a 16 year old and Attali’s vision of “nomad devices” inspired part of my career path in mobile telecoms.

2015 onwards will likely be remembered as an inflection point in US corporate history as the accelerating culture wars dragged businesses into the political arena.
I covered this in 2020 before businesses descended into politics The silence from US business in this disruptive era has deep roots (Oct) and “It can’t happen here”
I reached out to Jason Pontin to get his insights on this and on the next wave of technology innovation.
Jeff Bezos will have unwittingly helped rewrite the rules of philanthropy and college donations by divorcing Mackenzie Scott. She has started to effect change by sending her billions to under-donated clusters of higher education institutions and is hopefully inspiring others to stop donating to Ivy League universities who have enough for centuries:
With donations ranging from $20 million to $50 million to colleges routinely overlooked by major philanthropists, MacKenzie Scott has set herself apart by focusing on institutions that serve students of color and those from low-income backgrounds.
She is finally doing what must be done — giving back to…

American media, particularly its DC/NY political media, has many virtues: doggedness like David Fahrentold who uncovered Trump’s grifting, righteousness like Eugene Robinson and Mike Barnicle whose opeds are useful chronicles of our “interesting times”. What it fundamentally lacks is the ability to think outside itself and to call out, forcefully, how we got here, with a Trumpified GOP and Roger Stone calling for Trump to imprison the Clintons, Mark Zuckerberg and even Gen. Mattis.
